About Us
Bridgewater Primary Response Area
The Bridgewater CFS brigades primary response area includes approximately 5km to the West (Stirling), 6km to the North (Carey Gully), 10km to the East (Hahndorf) and 4 km to the South (Aldgate). This area totals over 50 square kms. The area consists of many steep and densely wooded areas with high fuel volumes, interlaced with private dwellings and farming enterprises.
The South Eastern Freeway (Princess Highway) and the Adelaide – Melbourne Rail line, also intersect the area. The brigade also protects the main water pumping station, which services the whole region.
Approximately 70% of the primary response area does not have reticulated water supply.
There are many nature reserves in and around the primary response area with many limited access tracks.
